September 19, 2019 – Psalm 89:1-2, 5
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens, You will establish Your faithfulness.” Let the heavens praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! Psalm 89:1-2, 5.
What is it about the Love of God that makes us feel like singing with the rest of creation? When darkness falls, and the stars appear, I recall a blessed moment with my Mother. We visited on the back porch at dusk. The stars began to appear. Mother told me she often waited to tell her secrets to the Evening Star. A star in the sky is God’s greeting of Good Night, His message is, I love you!
Now I tell Him Good Night, and I know all is right. For God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. And I read these words from Him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1. This verse brings assurance and joy of His Love even through fleeting sorrows of the day. My heart is filled with joy and, I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free. For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Let the heavens praise Your wonders, O Lord, Your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord; a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around Him? Psalm 89:6-7.
