Reflections on “The Way!” – February 4, 2025
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. What does WAY-TRUTH and LIFE have in common?
First of all, I AM signifies a surety for direction for living. What is important for the person who always tells the Truth? You are more inclined to Trust that person. When we Trust Jesus, then we follow the Way Jesus leads us. And He has promised to return.
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:20-21.
“Therefore, My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” John 10:17-18.
How much power do you have? This is the power Jesus has: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4.
Yes, in John 14:19, here is a promise: A little longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. John 14:19. Jesus knew it was God’s will to die for those who believe, and He would die as a sacrifice for those who believe.
My Mother shared Psalm 37 with me when I was young. When I read the phrase, Delight yourself in the Lord caught my full attention. I learned that it is a high degree of Joy!
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:3-5.
One day as my Dad drove through some of the smaller hills south of Oklahoma City, pictured God reaching down and making the valleys and the hills with His Hand. I thought about all the animals, flowers, waterfalls. One day I wondered why the sky was blue, instead of green.
Then Is found the verses that told me why…“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9.
Then I memorized Psalm 121:1 and learned my help comes from my Lord, who made the heaven and earth. I learned, too, that God doesn’t need to sleep.
Since God created us, then it is a blessing to praise Him and read His Word and learn His Way, His Truth. The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood, and the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:10-11.
As a child, I understood I should obey my Dad and Mom. There weren’t any excuses. The time Mom said I should wash the dishes, and I didn’t! When she came home, she showed me the chocolate bar I didn’t get to eat folded in the tea towel.
How does Matthew end with? And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. When Jesus comes.
Do you worry about what you eat or wear? There is no need to worry when we Love Him and let Him be God. “Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things, the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:31-33.
We are His Children, and we need Him. He loves us. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:19-21.
Delight in Him!
