May 17, 2019 – Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! Psalm 46:2-3
How we love to see God’s Will triumph over the troubles we encounter. Some days seem to be more difficult than others. It is the assurance of verses such as these, that speak to our hearts and give us a Hope that will never die. Indeed, we rejoice in troubles, for our God is faithful and trustworthy.
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. James 1:2-3. We sing, Through it all, through it all, I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God. (Andre Crouch).
In Psalms, I find many verses that give me Your Joy and Hope through the difficult times. My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises! Psalm 57:7.
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again—my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11.
I take joy in doing Your will, my God, for Your instructions are written on my heart.” Psalm 40:8.
I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11.
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. Psalm 16:8-9.
“Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalm 46:10.
