May 20, 2019 – Psalm 119:130-133

The teaching of your Word gives light so even the simple can understand. I pant with expectation, longing for your commands. Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. Guide my steps by your Word so I will not be overcome by evil. Psalm 119:130-133.

In God and His Word, we find our true reality and our identity. We long to be with those who truly love us.  Who else, but our Lord God loves us this much? He created us for His purposes and knows who we are in Him.

The phrase tells me to listen for Your Commands,  I pant with expectation, longing for commands.  (Matthew 5:6. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. God’s Words are refreshing to my soul.

In all things, God is faithful and righteous. I can trust Him completely.  His Word is my Guide and guards me against evil.  The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1.

Loving God is listening and following His Commands. Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. John 8:42.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”  Matthew 22:37

Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9

O Lord, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair. Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy. I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words. Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much. Psalm 119:137-140.
