May 15, 2015 – Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times;his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.Oh, magnify the Lord with me,and let us exalt his name together!Psalm 34:1-3As I wake, the silence of the morning speaks to me. Outside the rumblings of traffic signify the world as usual, yet I am drawn to and thirst for words that are not usual. Words that speak to me of the merciful God and His Awesomeness. When was the last time I simply said, I love you, to my Lord? I will bless the Lord at all times. And it is time! I re-count the ways God blesses me daily. He blesses me with a home, food to eat, loved ones He has given me, sight and hearing to know His will and His sacrifice of love. There is not a moment that I am not drinking in the very breath of life that God gives me.Let us magnify the Lord, suddenly I see that I have made the LORD inconsequential in my life when I forget to bless Him and exalt Him. I have forgotten that He lights my way to all that is Good.My heart and my mind stop and I again taste the glory of God. His Word is the Manna that sustains my soul. It is my choice to trust Him. It is my choice to renew that walk with the LORD my God. It is my choice to praise Him, bless Him continually with all that is in me.This choice to choose life has meaning not only for me, but my descendants. “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Deuteronomy 30:19Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. Psalm 34:8-9
