July 13, 2018 – Psalm 36:6-7

Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:6-7.

Why did God create the tall mountains and the deep seas? Why did He create birds with wings to fly in the air? Why did create the seeds to grow and feed us?  He made the sun to see by day and we drink, delighting in the refreshment from his river of delights. Why?

This Psalm is a textbook to study and know God.  It is the primer to our understanding of God and what He means to us.  He is our life, our all, our Master and our Redeemer who gives us the joy of living a pure, sin-free life.

For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.  Psalm 57:10.  Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Psalm 89:14.  Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:38. Fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27. The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”  John 8:12.

You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. Psalm 36:8-9.
