April 9, 2015 – Hebrews 10:25
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25We, believers in Jesus Christ, are the Church. We don’t ‘go’ to church, we are the church. By gathering together, we encourage one another. Encouragement comes from knowing God keeps his promises through Jesus Christ. What does the Body of Christ, the Church, do? Acts of love and good works.King Solomon built the Temple….In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon‘s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord. I Kings 6:1. The House of the Lord is where God met His People. After Jesus lived, died on the Cross and was raised from the dead, there was no need for a temple –Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. I Corinthians 6:19-20.Knowing that the Holy Spirit lives within us, will this change how we treat our body? Will we make different choices as to our actions, our words, our thoughts, and even to how we treat our bodies? These choices we make are a testimony to how much we love our Lord who sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. The Holy Spirit is not a spy, but our Helper and our Comforter to help us to hold fast to the hope we have in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us to erase our doubts of God from our hearts.Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God. 3 John 1:11bLet us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Hebrews 10:23-24
