December 14, 2018 – Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11.
Therefore holds the ‘why’ the name of Jesus is above all names. Jesus, although equal to God, did not cling to His divine privileges. Jesus became a slave, born as a human being. He obeyed God with an attitude of humility and died as a criminal on the cross.
Do you wonder why the world fosters splintered relationships? It is when we think only of ourselves and do not allow God to work in our hearts. This attitude stifles our desire and ability to grow in Him.
Philippians 2:14-15 is the gift of radical unity among God’s Children. Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
This Christmas, as we enjoy the twinkling of Christmas Lights, we remember these words, Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12.
Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:12-13.
