Reflection on “In Peace, I Will Both Lie Down and Sleep!” November 19, 2024
You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8.
How often the ability to makes us feel safe when we are able to sleep in peace which leads to having hope.
Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. Psalm 33:20-22.
You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD! Psalm 150:6. Indeed, everything that has breath was created by our Lord God, often called Sovereign Lord! And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, “‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? Acts 4:34-35.
How often we pray for what we want or feel we want. What pleases God? He loves music, righteousness and justice. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully on the strings with loud shouts. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. Psalm 33:3-5.
We often find things entertaining that fill our minds and our time. Indeed, I count everything as a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.. Philippians 3:8-11.
Resurrection from the dead is the promise Jesus Christ paid our debt of sin, so that we may spend eternity with God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son. What do we do? Believe and Trust in God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. and He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8.
God is our fortress, our Rock, our Hope, and our Salvation. For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:32-34.
The Holy Spirit tells about the fruit of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things, there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:22-23.
The Love Chapter – I Corinthians 13:13 tells the story: So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Love begins the desire for righteousness, truth, believing, and trusting in our lives, which leads to Peace.
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God. Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; Let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. In His hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For He is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Psalm 95:1-6.
What is the Doxology for your life? Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25.
