May 26, 2015 – Philippians 1:10-11

Philippians1-10-11For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:10-11When so many things crowd in on your life, how do you, how do I choose what is important?  Prioritize, magazine articles say — Multi-task says other articles.  Choose the best time-saving devices, we are told.  What really matters?Live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return   How many times did I hear from my parents, “Behave yourself!”  How many times did I say that to my children.  And here it is in verse 27 — “Conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ!”  We are to live as citizens of Heaven now, as saints. It is all about the good news — the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  This is one thing that unites us and helps us to fight TOGETHER for the faith with one spirit and one purpose.Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
