August 30, 2018 – Amos 4:13
For the Lord is the One who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals His thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name! Amos 4:13.
Do what is good and run from evil
so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Amos 5:14-15. These are the words Amos, a shepherd, from Tekoa in Judah, heard from the Lord about 750 BC, before Christ.
These words from the Lord are repeated throughout the book of Amos. “Come back to me and live!”
Every time we feel the wind in our hair, or climb a mountain pointing to God, or feel a drop of rain, we know the Lord sends His love. At night, I count the stars visible through my window and give God thanks. Psalm 104:1 – Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great you are! You are robed with honor and majesty.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. Psalm 63:3-4
It is the Lord who created the stars, the Pleiades and Orion. He turns darkness into morning and day into night. He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. The Lord is his name! Amos 5:8.
