August 31, 2018 – Psalm 5:1-2

O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King, and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Psalm 5:1-2.

Did your morning throw up its hands in exasperation with all the things clawing for your attention to first things?  Yes, me, too.  How can I hear His Voice amid the all the voices clamoring outside the door of my heart?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, has these words to hush interruptions to a quiet ordered morning.   Always be joyful.  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Glide peacefully through the day by praising God in all things and circumstances.  verse 23-24 of I Thessalonians continues, Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.  God will make this happen, for He Who calls you is faithful

Psalm 25:4-7.  Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.  All day long I put my hope in you.  Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past.  Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.  Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.

Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. Psalm 5:3, 11.
