January 21, 2016 – Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24The Lord God made today!  These words set the mood for the day.  We will rejoice and be glad?  God wants us happy.  The Lord God doesn’t want us to pick a fight with someone, pout in a corner, yell at people and be angry or carry a grudge.When we rejoice and are glad, we know God is putting sunshine in our hearts.  Maybe we are walking down the Grumpy Road.  No matter how many troubles we encounter, we are commanded…yes, commanded… to be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or discouraged. Another command.  Then we are tempted to say, “I don’t feel like it!”  or “I don’t feel strong!”  Forget feelings…it is all about choices.That is when we need to look at the promises…I will be with you as I was with Moses….I will not fail you or abandon you….Your Lord God is with you…wherever you go or what ever happens!What do you plan to put into your day today?  Heartache?  Anger? Or peace and joy and God’s Love?  Choose rejoicing and being glad.  The day becomes easier, there is no dread, there is no fear in our Lord God. God made our day!!!!No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you… This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”   Joshua 1:5,9
