September 6, 2018 – John 14:12-13

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.” John 14:12-13.

Why are our prayers answered?  Why does Jesus give us this promise to ask for anything and it will be done?  So the Son can bring glory to the Father! Not for the Son, but glory to the Father!

When Jesus, the Son of God was born, the angel spoke – Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,  “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2:13-14.

Just as God closed Noah and his sons in the ark to save them from the flood, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to seal us to Jesus until we receive our inheritance.  What did Noah do?  He believed God, he trusted God, and Noah obeyed God.

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,  that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,  who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:11-14.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”  Mark 9:23.

“Yes, ask me for anything in My Name, and I will do it!”  John 14:14.
