September 30, 2019 – Psalm 119:1-3
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in His ways! Psalm 119:1-3.
How can we search for God when our heart dwells in the darkness of sin? How can we search for our Lord with only a partial longing to be His?
The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. I Timothy 5:1. Love is God’s language, all goodness comes from love and walking in His Ways. How can there be love when we hide in the darkness our anger harbors? There are no secrets from God. He knows our every thought and our every spoken word.
Three things God looks for is a pure heart, a good conscience and a true faith. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, there is forgiveness. Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us to walk with Jesus.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2. How can we be sure our transformation comes from the Lord? His Word reveals this. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment. Philippians 1:9.
I will praise you with an upright heart when I learn your righteous rules. I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me! Psalm 119:7-8.
