Colossians3-23Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. Colossians 3:23-24Drudgery and chores take on a new look when you know this verse.  Dishes were not something I enjoyed doing as a girl.  I wish I had known this verse then.  There are so many things that are repetitious.  The floor always needs sweet, the clothes always need laundering, the need for eating is always with us.  Daily we are given things that must be done. But wait, what is the last part of the verse?  There is a reward?  And from the Lord himself? After a lifetime of busy work, we receive an inheritance.  Why?  Because we are not serving ourselves, but Jesus Christ Himself.  ‘Active righteousness’ is serving one another.  ‘Passive righteousness’ is His love from God to us — a response to His love is that we serve others.  (Martin Luther)The following verse is brings the wonder of the love of Jesus.  We are earthbound in our thinking, we don’t see His big picture at all.  Praising God, loving Him, and knowing Jesus is my Savior and serving others in Jesus’ name, loving others is all I need to do.  Someday I will see Him, and know Him in a way that is impossible here on earth.  Praise the Lord Almighty!!!Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways. Isaiah 45:15
