Poems I wrote…or thinking about

Christmas 08
The world will never be the same
Because the Son of God came
Praise Him, angels sing His Holy Name.
The World will never be the same.

On a starlit night
Across hills and plains
Men and angels
Celebrate – Our Lord Reigns

God looks into our hearts
He looks into our eyes
He longs to hear voices,
And hear praises rise.

Just as the shepherds knelt
At the manger in the stable.
We worship Jesus this night
The Alpha, Omega, He is Able.

Seeing Jesus, I see God Colossians 1

In the beginning, Jesus was supreme 10
In the end, Jesus is supreme 8
From the beginning to end, He is there 10
All things, all things are in His care 8

Jesus, Alpha and Omega, Amazing One 12
Jesus, Favored One, He’s God’s Own Son 9
Jesus, from Beginning to the End, 9
Jesus, all in all, our faithful friend 9

We see Jesus, and we see 7
The God who cannot be seen 7
We look at this Son and know 7
God’s purpose in creation’s flow. 8

Ev’ry thing began in Him 7
Visible ‘n’ invisible
Absolutely ev’rything 7

No boundary or space
Shall separate me
From my Father’s love
For in Him, I am free

I seek His precious presence
His name I honor and praise
I seek His everlasting love
Not just now, but all my days.

His voice, a soft whisper
I feel the softness of his breath.
His words slice deep within
I am His in life and death.

The depths of my heart until

I heard a cardinal
Up in a tree
Singing his song
Just to me.

My heart responds,
“I hear your song –
Pretty, Pretty.”
Singing all day long.

A leaf on a tree is born
From a bud so green
Its promises of greatness
Are clearly seen.

In the mid-season of life
The green veins begin to show
Wearing of sun and storms
Age after age it continues to grow

Then in the season of fall
The adornment of the leaf
Breaks into praise and color
Brilliant but oh so brief.

As the leaf falls to the ground
To be swept away
Crumpled and wrinkled
No longer on display

Is the short life all for naught?
Will it ever feel the wind’s breeze?
The leaf continues to sleep
Memories in my heart to ease.
