October 5, 2016 – John 1:14

john1-14So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:14The Word became human and lived on the earth.  We were introduced to love and faithfulness.  Our God has a plan from the beginning, before time.  He placed in our hearts expectation and hope.  That tingly, from head to toe, feeling that a surprise is coming changes everything.John, who baptized Jesus understood the plan from before he was born. A few days later Mary (Mother of Jesus) hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped (John) within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:39-41.When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are filled with Hope — the Hope of life eternal, and the quickening of the Holy Spirit within us.  The Holy Spirit leads and guides us to an ever deepening hope. Each time I see a brilliance in the sky — I am reminded once again of the glory and life lived with Jesus.John’s testimony of the One who is far greater than I am, for He existed long before me…is all I need to know.  Jesus is my Hope, not only in this life but in the life to come.  Jesus was raised from the dead by God, just as we will be when we belong to Him.One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened,  and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” Luke 3:20-21.It is all because of Jesus, we have love everlasting.

John testified about him when he shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’” John 1:15
