October 31, 2019 – I Corinthians 15:51-52
Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. I Corinthians 15:51-52.
How can this change be? Have you ever seen an eye twinkle? It’s a brief moment for a mystery to take place. Are you listening for the sound of a trumpet? Long ago, I listened to my little brother learning to play a trumpet. It seemed a mystery how he could play this instrument. I read these verses and begin to realize this mystery of the dead being raised in a perfect condition to live forever can only happen with G0d.
Only our Lord God, Who is Self-Existent, Eternal, Self Sufficient, Infinite, and Eternal can prepare such a mystery. The Lord God who sent Jesus, His Son, into the world to teach us how to live, delights in loving us this much. God is without end, gives us victory over death when Jesus came to pay the price for our sins. Because Jesus was raised on the third day, through Him, we will experience resurrection.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, for His Eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me!!!
For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:53-57.
