October 2,2017 – Philippians 4:6

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6.

Such a contrast in the world – “Don’t worry!”  and the the hurting, misguided people who kill others.  Jesus gives us an alternative — Don’t worry — pray!

When troubles come threatening us, how ‘thin’ are the words of the world – Don’t worry – be happy!  Jesus is  love. He is life! Jesus tells us to pray.  How do we learn to pray? Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.  James 4:10.  Humility comes with the deep understanding that whatever comes before us, we cannot achieve or be without a humble heart, bowed in prayer.

The joy of humility is learning to truly trust our Lord God with life and love in our lives.  We cannot understand God’s peace, and how His peace envelops us in His Love.  We may not understand the relationship of prayer and peace in our lives.  It is not necessary to understand.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”  John 14:27. (The Words of Jesus!)

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.
