October 20, 2015 – Matthew 5:47a

If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Matthew 5:47aLife is so much easier with just friends.  No words that hurt or scary faces.  The blessing is making your enemy, your friend by praying for him or her.Anyone who lives the way God wants can pray, and great things will happen.  James 5:16b (ERV)Jesus loved us first.  We learn as we grow up that Jesus loved each of us before we were born.  Love is stronger than hate.  A smile is stronger than a frown.  A kind act means more than bad behavior.What does being true children of our Father in Heaven mean?  It means that no matter how old we become, we love God and praise Him for how he leads us.  It means not just now.  This Father in Heaven was, is and will always be. His Word begins, In the beginning God (Genesis 1:1)….and the last words are Jesus is the one who says that all of this is true. Now he says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20).So these three things continue: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.  I Corinthians 13:13.  So love and pray and belong as children to your Heavenly Father.But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:44-45
