October 19, 2015 – Psalm 84:1-2
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God. Psalm 84:1-2As I read these words, the kinks in my soul unravel and I feel at peace once again. For I know this is a promise. There is more to this life when I choose to accept the Love of Jesus and His forgiveness. Flashes of my anger disappear and the impossible becomes possible in Jesus Christ through faith in Him. The allure of the world loses its hold on my heart. I cling to the Old Rugged Cross and the symbolizes the sacrifice Jesus made to become a man, be crucified and die on the cross. He rose from the dead — to walk again and is now living at the right hand side of Father God.When we are baptized, our identity becomes a Child of God. If tempted, I cry with a loud voice, “I am the Child and Friend of God!” That puts me back in sync! Our identity is in Him who loves us so, for God is Love. And how is this so? The following verses say — The Lord God is our sun and shield. He gives us grace and glory. Awesome words that make my heart sing. There is hope in these words from the Psalmist. Hope that is born anew each day in Him.Read the last part — The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right! Then read the next part. O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.Joy and Trust in the Lord of Heaven’s Armies are tied together and inseparable. Blessed be the Lord. Rejoice, and again I say, Rejoice!A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you. Psalm 84:10-12
