October 18, 2016 – 2 Timothy 3:14-15
But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14-15These words were written to Timothy in reference to his Grandmother and Mother, who taught Timothy the Truth from the Scriptures. Parents, through the ages, have taught their children. Often the learning comes from what children see, rather than what is taught to them.As we watch children at play, they often imitate what they hear and see. They are a reflection of our lives and what we think is hidden. Children want the one thing God is — Love and guidance. As a child grows up his attitudes, behaviors, ways of communication are embedded in his heart by examples around him.God gave us His inspired Word to teach and correct us. God’s truth is eternal – and continues to be our standard for living. Truth and Honor with Love are the banners we hold high as we go through life.Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. I Corinthians 13:7All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16
