October 11, 2019 – Psalm 121:1-2

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2.

We often become discouraged, and wonder which we will turn.  And then we recall the scripture… Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation  and my God. Psalm 42:5-6a.

Is your heart, your soul, causing you not to see God’s glorious creation?  Look up and see, and hear Him in the glory of the firmament.  Look up the highest mountain He spoke into being.

How can we be content in our Lord?  How can we be strong in Him?  How can we look up and rejoice each day? You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in You.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4.

The latest meme, trend, or latest political wind will not bring us peace.  Keeping our minds on the Lord God Himself, connects us to our keeper.  He keeps our life, and our going out and coming in forever more.

Before Jesus left this earth, he left this word in John 14:27.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. Psalm 121:5-8.
