November 20, 2015 – I Peter 3:11-12

1Peter3-11-12Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:11-12Recently I watch the headlines on the internet – everything is a ‘bombshell’ news. Enticing headlines.  When I succumb to reading, I see that it often depicts the seamier side of life which takes my mind away from Jesus. In this world of chaotic events, I search for His peace.  The search takes work and discipline.  Above all I want to transform my mind…Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2.The Lord Himself watches over those who do right and hears their prayers.  What a glorious promise.  It isn’t a given, it is a response to our acceptance of His Will and Way.Our God is a God of peace which will make us holy in every way.  He is not a God of murder and chaos and hate, but the God of Love.  And now I pray every moment that my whole spirit and soul and body is kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again to receive us.  Help me turn from evil in this world and keep my mind set on just Jesus – for He is my Lord, my Master, my Savior and the only way to peace everlasting. Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
