November 18, 2021 – Psalm 139:5-7
You hem me in, behind and before, and lay Your Hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? Psalm 139:5-7.
The understanding that you surround me on every side, hemming me in close to You, gives me great joy. I cannot get away from You. You put your hand gently on my should.
As a child, I loved to read instead of taking a nap. I hid under my pink bedspread. I asked Mother if God could see through the pink bedspread. She assured me He can. I learned early, there is no place to hide from God.
No matter how far I travel, no matter how dark it seems to me, God’s hand leads me and holds me. This verse gives a picture of light in the new eternity of Heaven. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23.
O Lord, I pray for Your Hand to hold me and lead me through this sinful world to our God, who created Light, and Jesus who is the Light of the World. I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. Psalm 139:9-12.
