November 16, 2017 – Philippians 4:5-6
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:5-6.
Just when we think we know how to trust, God gives our hearts another step to climb, another reason to praise Him, and give thanks. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 57:9-10.
God’s peace enters our hearts through thankfulness and trust. Anger, impatience, and greed plant seeds of doubt in our hearts. When we desire to control everything around us, we have forgotten Who loves us most, and Who created us with a plan. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. Jeremiah 29:11-12.
We often think of ‘peace’ as a ‘warm fuzzy’ dropping into our lives for a time. Peace stands guard, shielding our hearts and minds. This Peace is real and is only available through our Jesus Christ, our Savior. Jesus said – “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. Therein lies our hope and everlasting joy and song! He Lives!
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
