May 26, 2017 – Romans 10:8-10

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:8-10

What is coming from your mouth?  What is in your heart? It matters! We can only control ourselves through the strength of Jesus.  It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.” Matthew 15:11.

Jesus is Lord of all.  When we call on His Name, we are saved, forgiven, for our sins.  For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.  Romans 3:23-24.

How shall we live in this life?  We have an example of how to live in Jesus.  These attributes and qualities can only be ours when we follow Jesus in our lives.  ‘Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control.’  Against such, there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23). Add to this –Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!  Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:4-5

For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:11-13
