May 20, 2021 – Psalm 42:1-3

As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?” Psalm 42:1-3.

Oh, how often we have a thirst that can only be satisfied by a drink of water.  It is a physical desire. It brings life to depleted bodies. Even so, our hearts grow thirsty for God’s Goodness and Truth.

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’  John 7:37-38.

O, Lord, our God, may I ever seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness through Jesus Christ.  In His beautiful Name, I pray.  Amen.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11.  Our Hope and Faith in God and the Salvation He provides through Jesus.

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation.  Genesis 6:8-9b. Noah trusted God, and not the trend of his culture.

These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation, and my God. Psalm 42:4-6a.
