John10-4bAfter he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. John 10:4What is it about a voice that it is so distinct that even when the voice stills, it echoes in our minds?  My father and mother’s voices long ago became silent on this earth, yet I hear their counsel in my heart to this day.  Echoes of love and guidance remind me of truth.Even so, the Words of the LORD, the Truth, speaks to me over and over.  I hear His Voice guiding me as I travel through this life.  “Love one another”….”Do not judge others, and you will not be judged”……”Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart”…..”And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.“Then there are the promises in His Word.  “I am with you always, even to the end of the age”……..”there is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am”…..”Blessed are those who believe without seeing me”…..”Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children”…These are a few verses of the guidance and promises.  The greatest of these is love, and with love comes trust.  Even when we think all is lost, we know You are with us and protect us.  Because our thoughts are fixed on You, You keep us in perfect peace. You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
