Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. Psalm 73:23Nothing is as reassuring as hands. A mother’s hand is soothing, for her hand comforts and encourages us. A mother’s hands hold us back from danger. A mother’s hands have a healing touch. A mother’s hands serve God in caring for His greatest gift a woman can be given, a child.Lovers hold hands, the father gives his daughter’s hand in marriage, Handshakes close a business deal or are used for greeting. Hands can be used for fighting and hurting, and yet, just when we need the comfort most, we grasp God’s hand.David speaks here of the loving Hand of God. The hands that formed the universe and formed us with such care and precision. His hand holds each of us and protects us in this life.We are often tempted to grasp a worldly moment and hold it in our hands. How can we hold God’s hand and the world’s hand at the same time? God will show us a way out so that we can be faithful and endure….and continue to hold God’s hand.God holds more than our hand when we reach out to Him, He holds our heart, soul and mind. And we experience His joy and love and peace when we hold on to God’s Hand. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. I Corinthians 10:13
