June 2, 2016 – Psalm 29:10-11

The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever. Psalm 29:10These verses tells us so much about qualities of our Lord. How great a gift He gives us of strength and peace through Him.  Have you been warned of  something bad that will happen and you become afraid. That fear grows and grows.Once we had a warning of a flood that was to come during the night.  It was difficult to close our eyes in sleep, imagining water everywhere.  We could hear in the distance the thunder of water rushing down the river just to the south of us.  In the morning, the sun rose and the house was dry.  Can you imagine Noah and his three sons when it began to rain and they boarded the Ark?  When morning dawned, they looked out, all they saw was water.The Lord God created water.  Everything He created depends upon Him for life, for breath, for being.  The Lord gives his people strength.  Who are God’s people?  Those who love and obey his commands.  His greatest command is to love one another.  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. I John 4:18.Loving the One and only God perfectly, gives us peace. Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.  I Peter 3:8The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. Psalm 29:11
