June 18, 2018 – Psalm 31:19
How great is the goodness You have stored up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before the watching world. Psalm 31:19.
We cannot fathom the depth of God’s great Love for us. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:30-31. As I grow older, I remember this verse as I watch the hairs become sparse on my head. What comfort that God knows the changing number of hair – and I know His Presence in a personal way.
When I falter and grow weary, I praise Him. When I miss my loved ones who have joined Him, I praise Him. When I feel the pangs of fear and change growing, I praise Him. As I see the glories of creation, I praise Him. For when I place my life in your Hands and in Your Presence, I am safe and sheltered in You. How shall I live then, to enjoy the shelter of His Presence?
Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13.
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. Psalm 91:1-2.
You hide them in the shelter of your Presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your Presence, far from accusing tongues. Psalm 31:20.
