July 30, 2018 – Psalm 100:1-4
Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:1-4.
Acknowledge! Come to the understanding of God. Know He is our Lord. Why? We belong to Him for He made us. He knew us, for He formed us in our Mother’s womb. I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Psalm 139:7.
Even when we feel alone, we are not really alone, for His Presence is always with us. How can we respond to such faithfulness? Again, the Psalm writer gives us the answer — “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalm 139:23-24.
His steadfast love continues forever. Often as parents, we are concerned about our children, and our children’s children, and those who come after. When we teach by example how we love the Lord, and praise Him. One of my dearest memories is knowing my Grandmother prayed for me by name. Such a humbling experience, to know God heard my name in prayer.
May each generation know that the Lord is good. Exodus 34:7 – “I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.” Each of us is a link to the next generation!
For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalm 100:5.
