July 26, 2017 – Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. Romans 5:1-2

What has Jesus done for you and for me?  Our friendship with God is restored.  The reason we can rejoice in every circumstance is because through Jesus, we have become friends again with God.  What does that mean?  Have you ever desired what Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden?  In the cool of the evening they walked with God.

Through Jesus – we can again walk with God – by following His Son Jesus.   What is the name of the road to God? Faith, believing, and trusting Him.  Why do we try to ‘get away’ and we are drawn to the beach, to the mountains, or we desire camping along a river?  Why is a the sound of rain falling like a lullaby? Why?  All these things God created.  It is our soul calling out to our Creator.

We live in peace with God, the ultimate peace, because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.  Do we deserve such a privilege?  Romans 3:23 –  For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.   Jesus has brought us to living expectantly with confident joy of sharing God’s glory.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:10-11
