July 1, 2021 – 3 John 1:2-4

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:2-4.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.  I John 3:1-3. 

It is when we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we become children of God, and will want to share His Goodness with others.  Following the commands of Jesus to love one another gives joy not only to God our Father, but to our earthly parents.

Dear Heavenly Father, give me a hunger for doing good. Help my children and those who come after, see good in the way we love.  Forgive me when I falter. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long.  Psalm 25:4-5.
