January 30, 2020 – John 10:25-27

Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10: 25-27.

We all admire someone, and choose someone as heroes to follow.   Jesus came to this earth, sent by His Father.  In His Father’s name He accomplished many things. He calmed the waves with his words, He healed the sick, raised the dead, and made the blind to see.  He carried our sins to the cross, for when we belong to Him, He forgives our sins.

He calls us friend and He loves us beyond any earthly love. He gave us two commandments.  To love His Father and to love one another as He loves us.  All our lives, all  we want, is to truly belong. We love because He first loved us.  I John 4:19.  He teaches us how to love by the way He lived His life.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20.  These words Jesus spoke to His Disciples and those who follow Him.  When Jesus said these words, He knew loving Him means we belong to Him forever.

He will never let us down!

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:28-30.
