January 27, 2020 – Proverbs 19:21-22

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. Proverbs 19:21-22.

Man’s mind runs to and fro, in many paths each day.  Our Lord has one plan that prevails because of His steadfast love for each of us. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136:1.

Jesus came into the world for one purpose only, to redeem us, to show His Love to us. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. I Timothy 1:15.

The unending love-story  comes from God. Learning to love comes from God.  How many times we read these words to find the secret of Love:  Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant  or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;  it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. I Corinthians 13:4-7.

Love never ends. When we learn to love like Jesus loves, we know the ultimate truth that lasts beyond our brief time on the earth, So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. I Corinthians 13:13.  The only way we are able to love our neighbor as ourselves, is learning to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, and minds. Matthew 22:37,39.

What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied. Proverbs 19:22-23.
