January 25, 2021 – Psalm 16:7-8
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Psalm 16:7-8.
The first time this chapter intrigued me is reading my Mother’s Book, The Lines are Fallen. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Psalm 16:6. This is the scripture that appears on the introductory pages of her life’s story.
This is a story of a Mennonite girl and how her heritage of faith brought her through many difficult moments in life.
Indeed, The Lord gives counsel when we set Him before us. He counsels us when we turn to Him in aloneness, in sorrow, in discouragement, and in prayer.
How often I read these words and rejoice. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.
Dear Lord God, You make my heart glad, and I rejoice. You give me the gift of Your presence and joy. My whole being rejoices at Your Goodness and Kindness. Lead me, guide me and our family through this wearying world. In You, we are guided to everlasting life. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. Psalm 23:3.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:9, 11.
