January 23, 2017 – Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1
I can see my way to saving grace with the light of the Lord. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. I John 4:17-19.
What do we fear? Being alone, losing our way, having freedom to be who we want to be? In Jesus, we are never alone. When we trust Jesus Christ, He guides us on our way. It isn’t what we want, but what Jesus plans for us to do and be, doing what He desires to His glory, not ours.In the depths of despair, we call out to Jesus, “Teach me how to live, Lead me and guide me along your path.” Then Jesus stretches out his hand to us. He snatches us from the enemies within us and outside of us, who threaten us. Our source of strength comes from Jesus.

What a beautiful word! When Jesus invites us to come, we find peace, joy, hope, and love.
Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Psalm 27:11
