God Is Above Us All
Declare His glory among the nations, His
marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord,
and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:3-4.

As I read Psalm 90 through Psalm 106, the one echoing message throughout is how
Great is our God. The lyrics of ‘The Beautiful Name’ echoes through my
heart. You have no rival; You have no
equal, Now and forever, Our God reigns.
Nothing is
impossible for God who created our universe. When we look into the face of a
person, we are seeing the image of God. So, God created man in His own
image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27.

How big is our God? Big enough to create all the stars, place light to shine
during the day, to begin the clocks of time, and to LOVE with capital letters.
He alone controls the winds and the waves of the seas. How is our God able to
do this?
God is eternal, He is Omnipresent meaning God is everywhere, there is no place,
He isn’t. God is Omniscience, He knows all things past, present and future. He
knows the thoughts of man. God is Omnipotent… He can do all things consistent
with His Holy nature and will. Also, God is Sovereign. He has the
right and power to rule overall all things. Every act is according to His own
purpose and will.
What does that mean for man? Our main purpose is to walk with our Lord God and
reflect His goodness and holiness in all we do and say and think. Even
our attitudes come under this umbrella of living in the ways of the Lord.
Faked goodness won’t do it. Even as the tree is known by its fruit, we are
known by the behaviors we exhibit in our lives. It isn’t a onetime
happening. A pilot tells me in flying a plane, he must continually correct
the course all along the way to arrive at the correct destination.
Faith and loving one another doesn’t happen in one day, but we must re-set our
Spiritual GPS, and set it on the God, day by day, through confession of our
sins when we get off course.
What helps us know and understand the power and majesty of our Lord God, the One
who loves us and cares that we love Him? For the word of God is living
and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the
division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the
thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
We often cry for justice and equality of the law being done in this world. But
the clamor for justice and for the ‘right way’, according to the words of each
individual. Yet, this is God’s World, not ours. His Law, His Truth,
His Honor, His Forgiveness of our Sins that counts. Blessed are they who
observe justice, who do righteousness at all times! Psalm
106:3.
One of my favorite scriptures is this: Rejoice in the Lord always; Again, I
will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4. How is this possible? It is how we think
guides what we do. What is it we put into our minds during each day counts and
what we say in our minds. Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern
what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2.
Think like the world? When the world dishonors God, then we find firm Godly
thinking in His word. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is
honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise,
think about these things. What you have learned and received and
heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will
be with you. Philippians 4:8-9
