God is Able!

About 15 years ago, I stood
on the sandy Newport Beach and watched the horizon curve in the distance.
The sea tide came in and swirled around my
bare feet tugging and threatening to take me out to sea.
The unbidden, powerful pull of the ocean
overwhelmed me.
  It was my first
experience in the Pacific Ocean.

It was
my first experience to stand on the moist sand at the edge of such might and
realize that the same God who created this mighty Sea, also created me.  Wonder filled my heart at His power and
majesty.  Now when I feel the sweetness
of heart and know Who He is.  I listen
just as David did long ago when he said, The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea.  The God of glory thunders.  29:3b Psalm 29:3

The song I learned as a
child filled my heart and mind,
God is AbleHe will never failHe is almighty God! I remembered all the stories from the Bible that
my Dad told us as we grew up.  He told us
stories about the greatness of God, a Father with a capital F.  How could I forget the physical strength my
Dad loved to show us?  He had us count
how many push-ups and chin-ups he did each day.
We were very proud of our Dad and tried to emulate his strength,
however, God’s strength, his power and his faithfulness has no equal.
As I grew up, I loved
surprises.  The moments when an act or a
gift came my way that created wonder in me.
As I continue to grow up in the Lord, I have the same surprises when God
answers my prayers perfectly.  Not as I
envisioned, but with the clarity of forever purpose of our faithful God, a God
of sweet surprises.
For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows
enough to give him advice? Romans  11:34
Who could understand the workings of
the brain?  Who can fathom the bird’s
migrations?  Who could design the
delicate intricacies of a flower?  Who
could ever create a Mother’s love for her new born child?  Who could create the universe, the seasons,
the heavenly lights except for our God?
Man is still trying to fathom the mysteries God created and trying to
‘explain’ the unexplainable that can only be understood by having faith and
trusting in our God, who is Able.
The authenticity of God can only be
understood by Who He is and his unfailing love.
I have spent a lifetime trying to understand these three words, God is Love.  I John 4:8 – Dear friends, let us continue
to love one another,
for love comes
from God. Anyone who loveis a child of God and
knows God.
May you experience the love of Christ,
though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete
with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.  Ephesians 3:19
Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the
faithful God who keeps his
covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey
his commands.  Deuteronomy 7:9
No power in the sky above or in the earth
below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in
Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39
Have you ever wondered how
God could create ages of people and plan their footsteps on this earth?  How can He love us so much that He would send
his Only Son, Jesus, to earth to take us from the constraints of the Law and
give us His only begotten Son to die for our sins?  Jesus came to this earth to shed his blood
for all sins of men through thousands of years and beyond.

Let me put it another way. The law was our
guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with
God through faith.
 And now
that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian.
For you are all children of God through faith
in Christ Jesus.  And all who have been
united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
 There is no longer
Jew or Gentile,
slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you
belong to Christ, you are the true children
 of Abraham. You are
his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. Galatians 3:24-29

How much does God love us?  And may
you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep
his love is. Ephesians 3:18
The lyrics of this song, Before the Throne of God, describes how
much God is able to love us (Charitie L. Bancroft/Vikki Croft – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrYVTpsAGYk)
:
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart…
Behold, I have graven thee
upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.  Isaiah 49:16
As you and I walk on this
journey of life, let us give thanks for our loving Majestic and Holy God Who is
Able.
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to
present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy – Jude 1:24 (KJV)
