December 9, 2015 – James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17Where God is Light, there is no shadow or darkness.  Just blinding glorious light.  Can you imagine our new eternal home with no shadows just light?Every gift from God is pronounced good and perfect…no need for returns, or shoving into the back corner of the closet.  When a shadow, or darkness, falls across our life’s path, that is when we long to be in God’s Light once more.  Darkness points us to the Light.We can only give thanks to our Father in Heaven as He calls us back to share in the inheritance of Eternal Light.As I awoke this morning this song from the Psalms sang itself in my mind.  I remember the free way the melody and lyrics lifted my spirits and gave me joy…. (Thanks, Mom, for teaching this song to me!)The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?…One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble, he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.  Psalm 27:1, 4-5Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
