But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Philippians 3:20-21Have you ever experienced restlessness because you are where you are, and you want to be elsewhere. I am watching my dear husband restlessly pacing, trying to find the outside and his pickup, to go home. He realizes this is not his home. He does not belong here. The dementia has settled in his mind…yet when we have spiritual dementia, we forget that our true home is with the Lord our God, the place where we belong. There is nothing as sad as the feeling of not belonging. The only place where we can truly feel at home is when we are loved. This poem tells the story….I searched far and near /For a place to belong. /Bereft and lonely, I cried. So still, my heart lost its song. / Then I met Jesus, Lord and King / He gave me a song to sing / Of hope, joy and love / He became my Everything. Now I belong to Jesus, / I am a part of one body./ I belong to you, you belong to me. / IN Jesus we are each – somebody! The verse below says SET. Set your hearts, Set your minds. When those two parts of us are ‘set’ on Jesus, we are home and we are never alone. Our life is hidden in WITH Christ, IN God. When Christ comes, and He will come, we will appear with him in glory.Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
