Be Transformed!

Be Transformed! How often we want to be new and
transformed.  We often begin in the wrong place.  We change what can
be seen at first glance.  How many times we want to turn over ‘a new
page’ and begin life again.

We may want to lose weight or gain muscles, change the color of our hair or get
a new wardrobe or new furniture.

As I drove home on the Lord’s Day in the fall, thinking about transformation,
the colors of the leaves on the trees were exclamations of pure joy and
exultation, and with the heavy fall of rain, the leaves fall to the
ground.

Our Lord God transforms the world through seasons, refreshing rain, and growth
of every design and hue of colors for all growing things. It is when the
glorious light of His love shines through our hearts we are changed
forever.  His love in action is much more than knowledge.  It is
knowledge shining through us as the gift of the Holy Spirit in deeds of
kindness delivered through gentleness and goodness.

How can this be?  Through God’s love, transformation brings us joy and
peace, He begins the process of transformation of our hearts when we are
ready.  This transformation lasts a lifetime and an eternity.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to
present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,
which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you
may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and
perfect.
Romans 12:1-2.

This verse describes the connection of our minds with our hearts. We can change
our minds in how we think about everything in our lives from prayer,
money, and our belief in God. Do you know how our Jehovah God longs to have a
relationship with each of us?
        Now
the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is freedom.  And we all, with unveiled
face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For
this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Corinthians
3:17-18.

How can we have a closer relationship and be sure our mind is transformed in
His Way?  We can do this by memorizing His Word and thinking and talking
to our Lord. Keeping our mind accessible open to welcome Him at all times
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any
excellence, if there is anything worthy of
praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:8.

Knowing God’s heart changes our hearts and our attitudes on how to live the
Fruit of the Spirit. Let these qualities shine through our words, actions, and
attitudes. But the fruit of the Spirit
is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things,
there is no law.  And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified
the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let
us also keep in step with the Spirit.
 Galatians 5:22-24.

So, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love,
any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete
my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full
accord and of one mind.
Philippians 2:1-2.

How can we have an eternal transformation from moment to moment?  There
are three parts of our heart and mind to ready – humbleness, desire,
serving others, and undergoing the change.

– Understanding what we need, ‘doesn’t make it so’.

– Patience for working through the transformation process for a lifetime,
taking baby steps.

– Eating food from the Lord, providing energy to change, not the food the world
provides to have a ‘getaway’ or ‘have fun.’

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore, I hate every
false way.
Psalm
119:103-104.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for
they shall be satisfied.”
Matthew 5:6

Are there any ‘off’ seasons during our lives when there is no transformation
taking place within our hearts? There is no retirement, no bankers’ hours, no
vacation time in the transformation process to ready our souls for going home
for an eternity with our Lord God.

How often I think of this life and the promise of the coming of Jesus.  Weeping
may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
Psalm 30:5b.
This
is when we are Home with the Lord and an eternity of Joy has begun.
         “Let
not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in
me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I
have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again
and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be
also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
John
14:1-4.
This is the promise, and here is what
will happen, the final transformation: Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all
sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of
an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead
will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
For this perishable body must put on the imperishable,
and this mortal body must put on immortality.
I Corinthians 15:51-53.
