August 5, 2016 – Psalm 111:1-2
Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his godly people. How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. Psalm 111:1-2What is it about the Lord that draws all men to Him? It isn’t fear. It is love. When we face problems of sickness, poverty, betrayal, persecution, impending death of a loved one, we tend to think we are alone. Our Lord is walking beside us, and lived on this earth. He knows the same things we are are going through. We fight against age and looking old. Yet the beauty of age, when we belong to the Lord Jesus, is the path through the door to eternal life. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:7-8When we trust and know the Lord, we obey Him and grow in true wisdom. Who would you trust with your life, someone seems wise, or the Lord who created the world and all that is in it and every living being, including us.I will trust and obey the One knows me inside out. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:13-16Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!
