August 2, 2018 – Matthew 18:10-13
“Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father. “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away! Matthew 18:10-13.
But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left. Matthew 19:14-15. Oh, how Jesus loves each of us.
There is nothing like the faith of a child in his Father. We delight in seeing a young child trying to sit like His Dad. And as a son grows older, he wants to be like his Dad and live like him. Even so, as children of God, we want to live like our Father in Heaven who loves His children.
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. I John 3:1-2.
It is His love within us which creates our love for our Father in Heaven and others as well. We love each other because He loved us first. I John 4:19. Oh, how He loves us!
In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish. Matthew 18:14.
