August 18, 2016 – Colossians 3:12-13

Colossians3-12-13Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Make allowance for each other’s  faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13Do you remember what it is like to be chosen to play on a team?  I do!  When I was chosen to be on a team to play Red Rover, I did my utmost to not let someone from the other team break through.  My arm hurt from holding on so tightly and yet the big boy broke through.God chose me and He chose you, to be His holy people.  We are not alone, He walks with me.  When I can’t seem to hold on, my Lord God gives me extra strength to forgive others and to love.  He gives me clothing of love that helps me to see others with mercy, kindness, humility and gentleness.  Jesus forgives me each time I tear a hole of unforgiveness or impatience in the clothing of love He has given me.The clothing He gives me is always in fashion and seems to grow stronger as I wear it in love.  There’s never a need to compete with someone else.  Peace comes from Christ and we are thankful to find peace-living and joy in Christ Jesus.  Always.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:14-15
