August 17, 2016 – 2 Corinthians 6:6

2Corinthians6-6We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. 2 Corinthians 6:6What is the first mark of walking through life inhabited by the Holy Spirit?  The quality of humility.  We know that we are a sinner and very self-centered and prideful.  We pride ourselves in how we look, our intelligence, or our possessions.  Each of these can disappear in a blink of an eye.    Humility is being respectful of others without judging them or their actions.Purity in speech and actions is a beginning of proving ourselves,  patience and not anger with others, being kind to others with understanding and above all…loving others without expecting a return of any kind.  We listen to the Holy Spirit within us as He guides us in this life brings us peace and joy.Linking up in life with someone who does not share our faith in living in Christ Jesus creates a deep crevice between you in every-day living.  This chasm of hurt lasts a lifetime and affects the children and extended family.  It endangers the faith you have in Jesus. It is my lot now to visit my husband of 64 years who has forgotten our lives together and often forgets me.  Yet the common bond we share of faith in Jesus has survived his dementia.  It is the basis of our visit.  I am thankful for He loves to hear about Heaven.  It is his Hope and mine!  If one of us did not believe in Christ Jesus, there would be a deep void in our visits and in our hope for our Tomorrows.  It is our prayer our grandchildren and those who come after join us in Heaven and we are re-united in praising Jesus.

Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 2 Corinthians 6:14-15
