April 6, 2018 – Isaiah 40:28-30
Have you never heard? Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. Isaiah 40:28-30.
It is when we understand that our Lord God IS and the Creator of all we see, we begin to know Him with our hearts and our very being. During a Women’s Retreat, we were told to go for a brief walk, and find things that reminded us of God. That is when I knew a stick isn’t a stick and a rock is not just a rock. It is a part of God’s Creation. Scripture reading becomes alive when reading that the cross was made from a stick. A rock is used often in scripture. No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. I Samuel 2:2
Understanding that our intellect and thinking can never measure up to our God’s…gives us an understanding of humility. And what is our promise in the Lord? Trusting in the Lord gives us new strength. And we will soar like eagles. We will never grow weary of living with Him, Who IS.
This is my prayer – Lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed. Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees. Psalm 119:116-117.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.
